Natural Sole Reflexology
Tracey Crowther, RGN, BSc (Hons), MBRA
A typical reflexology treatment lasts approximately 45mins - 1 hour. The initial consultation may take slightly longer as a detailed past medical history needs to be taken prior to commencing the treatment.
After the consultation, the treatment may begin. It is a clothed session with only the removal of shoes and socks required. A reclining chair will be used to give the treatment to maximise client comfort and ensure the feet are in the ideal position to be worked on. During the treatment all reflex areas in both feet will be treated and the session will end with a relaxing breathing exercise.
For most conditions a course of treatments is required, usually given at 1-2 weekly intervals. A minimum of 3-4 treatments are recommended in order to assess your response to reflexology. Treatment intervals can then be extended with many clients choosing to have reflexology every 4-6 weeks to maintain their improved state of health. Chronic conditions may benefit from a longer course of treatment.
If you're not sure reflexology is for you, you could host a reflexology taster event. Get together with a group of friends/family and relax with a 20 minute reflexology taster session each.
